MUR

MUR — a Ukrainian creative collective founded in May 2022 by director Oleksandr Khomenko shortly after leaving occupation. The group brings together Oleksandr Khomenko, Viktor Tkachenko, Mykola Shmundyr, and Oleksandr Zaika — artists from Kyiv and Donetsk who began creating in the first months of the full-scale invasion. "I build a wall of Empire against you" — a line by Vasyl Stus that gave the project its name. The collective began with songs set to the poetry of Ukrainian classics — Franko, Stus, Tychyna, Symonenko, Vinhranovsky — and grew into the most popular educational voice on Ukrainian literature in social media. Three studio releases: "MUR Vol. 1", "Zakhalavna Knyzhechka", and "Ty [Romantyka]" — an 18-song musical album about the poets of the Executed Renaissance, which evolved into a full-scale rap-opera and toured stages across Ukraine.
