Robin Král
Robin Král is an acclaimed Czech poet, lyricist, and translator. He graduated in Aesthetics from the Faculty of Arts at Charles University and in Songwriting and Screenwriting from the Higher Professional School at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory. His long-standing collaboration with the Spejbl and Hurvínek Theatre, for which he has written dozens of song lyrics, is highly significant.
Although he does not perform on stage as an actor himself, his lyrics shape the musical identity of numerous productions. At the Spejbl and Hurvínek Theatre, he has contributed to plays for both children and adults, such as Spejbl and the City of Sin (Spejbl a město hříchu), How All the Devils Meddled with Mánička (Jak s Máničkou šili všichni čerti), Hurvínek and King Flea (Hurvínek a král Blecha), and the filmed noir musical Hotel Spejbl. His songs have been performed by prominent artists such as Jiří Suchý, Ewa Farna, David Koller, Marek Eben, and Tomáš Klus. He is also the author of more than twenty children's books (including Vynálezárium and Ztracený metr) and a recipient of the prestigious Magnesia Litera Award.
