Michaela Zajmi
Michaela Zajmi (formerly Kapustová) is a prominent Czech opera singer and mezzosoprano. She studied voice at the Prague Conservatory and the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. During her studies, she debuted at the National Theatre in Prague, becoming a permanent opera soloist there in 2011. Alongside her Prague engagements, she regularly and successfully makes guest appearances on other domestic and international stages. She leaves a significant mark at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava, the J. K. Tyl Theatre in Pilsen, and in productions of the South Bohemian Theatre in České Budějovice. Internationally, she has performed at the prestigious Teatro Regio di Torino in Italy, as well as in Japan, France, and the UK. Her repertoire spans from classical bel canto and Mozart roles to Dvořák, Janáček, and 20th-century works. For her extraordinary stage performances, vocal technique, and natural dramatic expression, she has been nominated twice for the Thalia Award.
