Jan Šikl

Jan Šikl is a Czech composer and creator of stage music, working across concert stages, theatre, and film. He engages with music on multiple levels – as a drummer in projects such as Zabelov Group and Korjen, as a composer of contemporary classical music (regularly collaborating with Orchestra Berg), and as a creator of film, video, and stage music. In recent years, alongside drama productions, he has been closely connected with contemporary dance theatre, particularly with companies 420PEOPLE and Spitfire Company, where his music shapes both rhythm and atmosphere of movement. His style is layered, contemporary, and detail-oriented, working with silence as intensely as with sound.
