
Elena Hálková
Elena Hálková was a Czech actress with an unmistakable charm who performed on leading Czech stages. Audiences admired her at the Prague City Theatres, the ABC Theatre, and the Vinohrady Theatre. Her acting range spanned from dramatic characters to comedic roles, as well as appearances in television films and series. She was most active in Czech cinema during the 1930s and 1940s, starring in films such as Vojnarka, Jánošík, and Jarčin profesor. Later, she appeared only in smaller roles. Critics praised her natural expression, energy, and sense of detail, which gave every character humanity and authenticity. She was the granddaughter of Czech poet Vítězslav Hálek, the first wife of actor Zdeněk Štěpánek, and the mother of actress Jana Štěpánková.
