
Petr Kostka
Petr Kostka is a legendary Czech stage, film, television, and voice actor who has been an icon of Czech culture for over 50 years. He began his career at the Prague City Theatres, where he spent 14 years. From 1976, he starred at the National Theatre in productions such as Naši furianti, Dům čtyř letor, and Soud lásky, and since 1994, he has been associated with the Vinohrady Theatre. At the Radek Brzobohatý Theatre, he won the 2003 Thalia Award for his role as Herman in Smíšené (po)city (Mixed Emotions).
He made his film debut in the late 1950s thanks to director Jiří Krejčík (Probuzení, Vyšší princip) and became famous for comedies like Zítra vstanu a opařím se čajem (Tomorrow I'll Wake Up and Scald Myself with Tea), Což takhle dát si špenát (How About a Plate of Spinach?), and others. He is the unforgettable voice of Hercule Poirot and many other characters. Audiences also know him from TV series such as Sanitka, Inženýrská odysea, Pojišťovna štěstí, and Cesty domů.
