Daniel Tesař

Daniel Tesař is one of the most respected and experienced Czech lighting designers. He belongs to the generation of creators who essentially founded and established this profession as a fully-fledged artistic discipline in the Czech theatrical environment. During his rich career, he has created lighting designs for hundreds of productions across all genres, from opera and ballet to drama and musicals. He regularly collaborates with leading domestic stages, leaving a significant mark particularly at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava and the National Theatre in Prague. He also applies his artistic signature on many other regional and independent stages. For many directors and stage designers, he is an indispensable partner, as he masterfully shapes space, completes the atmosphere, and closely connects the visual aspect with direction and music through light.
