
Martin Huba
Martin Huba is a Slovak theatre, film and television actor, director and professor. He graduated in acting from the Academy of Performing Arts (VŠMU) in Bratislava and quickly became one of the prominent figures of Slovak drama. During his career he worked at the theatre in Košice, the legendary Divadlo na korze, and later for many years at the New Stage of the Slovak National Theatre. Since 1999 he has been a guest artist on numerous Slovak and Czech stages and also works as a director, staging productions in both drama and opera at the Slovak National Theatre as well as at the Prague Summer Shakespeare Festival.
Martin Huba is widely respected for his exceptional acting intelligence, refined stage presence and deep psychological portrayal of characters. Critics often describe him as one of the greatest personalities of Slovak theatre and refer to him as an “aristocrat of the stage.” International audiences may recognize him from films such as Divided We Fall, I Served the King of England, Happiness, Kawasaki’s Rose, Talks with TGM, or the fairy-tale film Angel of the Lord 2.
