Jakub Jan Černý

Jakub Jan Černý is a versatile theatre artist active in operatic direction, singing, acting, and dance. Native to České Budějovice, he gained his early stage experience as a child in the ballet ensemble and productions of the South Bohemian Theatre. He studied musical drama at the Prague Conservatory and subsequently operatic direction at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno (JAMU). In his professional career to date, he bridges performance and stage direction, appearing in numerous operatic, dramatic, and musical theatre projects while also pursuing his own work as a director. A key aspect of his career includes his continued collaboration with the South Bohemian Theatre, where he appeared in the staged production of George Frideric Handel's famous oratorio Messiah and other repertoire titles.
