Ондржей Лажновський

Ondřej Lážnovský is a Czech puppeteer, director, dramaturg, educator, and writer. He graduated in directing and dramaturgy from the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre at DAMU. Between 1993 and 2004, he worked at the Lampion Theatre, where he later held the position of artistic director. He subsequently led the drama ensemble of the Municipal Theatre Kladno. Since 2009, he has been a permanent member of the Spejbl and Hurvínek Theatre, where since October 2017 he has officially alternated the voices of both title characters (Spejbl and Hurvínek). In his directorial and screenwriting practice, he focuses on creating works for both children and adults. He collaborates with companies such as Studio Damúza, divadlo Aha!, Aqualung, Nové divadlo Plzeň, and the Příbram Theatre. At the Spejbl and Hurvínek Theatre, his directorial credits include Hurvínek's Heaven (Hurvínkova nebesíčka) and A Trap for Hurvínek (Past na Hurvínka), and he co-created the productions History Versus Spejbl (Dějiny kontra Spejbl) and Hurvínek's Wish (Hurvínkovo přání).
