Jan Vápeník
Jan Vápeník is a Czech actor who has won audiences over with his natural style, precise humor, and a subtle yet remarkably strong stage presence. He studied acting at the Higher Art School in Zlín and began his professional career at the West Bohemian Theatre in Cheb. He later performed at the Petr Bezruč Theatre in Ostrava, and since 2012 he has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Klicperovo Theatre in Hradec Králové, where he is one of the key faces of major productions.
Vápeník shines in both dramatic and comedic roles and is admired for his authentic expression, his talent for accurately “observing” human behavior, and his gentle, often surprising humor. He showcased these qualities in productions such as Chocolate Eaters, The Great Sea Fairy, Broccoli on Mars, and Richard III. TV audiences may also recognize him from series such as První republika, Kukačky, and Boží mlýny.
The media describe him as “an actor with understated charm and absolute reliability,” whose performance always brings authenticity and humanity to the stage.
